Social Insurance Case
We had a case involving a gentleman who was in receipt of a greatly reduced Old Age Pension. We investigated and found that he had been the victim of identity theft in the 1970s: someone unknown had been employed under his social insurance number for a period of time.
We provided proof of the errors and omissions, and by making representation to the social welfare office, his record was corrected. As a result, he received his full entitled pension, plus a substantial back payment. This is an example of the work we do here at FIOS, specialising in conducting a full audit of a person's working life.
